Places to go, Stoupa
Stoupa is only 500 meters from Villa To Kyma and can easily be reached on foot.
It is a lively village with a lot of possibilities for an unforgettable holiday.
The boulevard, together with the church and the school, is where a lot of local life takes place. During summer, the boulevard is closed for traffic at night making it ideal for an evening stroll. It's here that most of the restaurants and a few bars are. Most shops along the boulevard are tourist shops, there are a few travel agencies, a supermarket and a bakery.
Still Stoupa is not a very busy touristic town.
It has held on to its original charm and a lot of that is to do with the fact that quite a few houses have been built with natural stone. Also, building higher than 7 meters is not allowed so you will not find highrise apartments here.

Stoupa has three golden beaches:
First there is the long sandy beach by the boulevard.
A little to the North you will find Kalogria Beach. Surrounded by trees, a few tavernas and loungebars this cosy little beach is by far our favorite. Its graduade slope makes it safe for children and there's plenty of sand to play with! For the teenagers Kaloghria is definitely the place to be. There are a lot of young people on this beach. One of the reasons they come here is the beach volleyball field that is constantly in use. Another reason is that a lot of people come here regularly or even daily to play beach tennis.
The writer Níkos Kazantzakis (1883-1957) lived here and based his character Zorba the Greek on the local foreman of a mine.
The third beach is tiny and took me a while to discover. You will find it if you go South on the boulevard and take the first street to your right. There are a couple of restaurants here also.
